  • Salt and pepper the pot roast.
  • Add pot roast, soup mix, stock, and vegetables to the crock pot.
  • Set the crock pot on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.
  • In the last hour of cooking time, mix the butter and flour and add to cooking liquids. This will thicken the gravy.

  1. I had almost a 4lb round roast and I thought 8 hours seemed like a really long time and after 4 hours on low my roast was overdone and dry. UGH. what a waste of $$$.
     
  2. This was really easy and very tasty. I also added some celery because I needed to use it up. I usually make gravy separately on the stove top, but really liked how well that worked in the crock pot. I'll do it that way from now on. Thanks raposok for sharing.
