Presto Mini Calzones

"Wonderful pizza flavored appetizer and snack. These can be quickly made using frozen bread dough or tubes of pizza dough. Open up a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce to use for dipping these mini calzones and enjoy."

  • 34 cup ricotta cheese
  • 14 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 lb frozen bread dough (thawed) or 2 cans prepared pizza crust
  • 1 12 ounces pepperoni slices (sliced in half, Use spicy for extra "kick")
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup spaghetti sauce or 1 cup pizza sauce

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray.
  • Mix Ricotta Cheese, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese together in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Roll out bread or pizza dough to@ 1/4 inch and cut into 2 1/2 rounds.
  • Fill rounds with a heaping teaspoon o f cheese mixture and top with a half slice of pepperoni.
  • Fold dough in half and seal with tines of a fork.
  • Place filled calzones on baking sheet, prick tops with fork to allow steam to escape and brush tops with milk.
  • Bake at 375 ° for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Heat Spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce in microwave and use for dipping calzones.

I?m ?originally from Texas, but now live in Florida. Still gotta have that spice though....love chipotle peppers, habaneros, and jalapenos. This is a picture of myself & my 2 daughters taken in Dec'06. I am working on my graduate degree, & still work as a nurse prn. When I'm not cooking and eating what I cook... I head for the gym to work out. As far as cookbooks, I love the church/ community cookbooks, where someone has dug out old handwritten recipes by granny and shared them with others-those are the best kind. If I had a month off, I'd for sure go hiking, would love to visit Australia and New Zealand.?
