directions

  • Slice washed, unpeeled potatoes into wedges, about a quarter of an inch thick.
  • Toss potato wedges with olive oil and place in baking pan (it's a good idea to coat the pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking).
  • Sprinkle liberally with garlic salt and black pepper.
  • Bake 30 min at 400 degrees; broil for 1-2 minutes to make fries crispy, and serve hot.

  1. I've been doing "wedge" potatoes like this for a few years now and they are so delicious. Another great seasoning to add to them is cajun spice mix - add it in with the salt and pepper and I promise you will love the flavour!

  2. Sprinkle garlic powder liberally; then add very little garlic salt. Delicious!!!

  3. Cooked as per recipe and the only sub I made was to use regular salt instead of garlic salt and I did cut a little thicker and peeled the potatoes (otherwise I would have been the only one eating them), and allowed 45 minutes to cook them in a 225C oven, sorry but they lacked crispiness and I did turn them at the half way mark but they where still tasty and still better than a commercial frozen brand of potatoe. Thank you Messy Cook, made for ZAAR Chef Alphabet Soup.

  4. Yum Yum! I made these as directed and loved them! Simple and very good. Soft inners and crispy outers. Thanks A Messy Cook for a nice treat. Made for Alphabet Chef Soup Tag.

  5. Fantastic! The extra time under the broiler really crisps them up. Thanks for posting this!

My most important characteristic is this: I am a child of God through the gracious work of Jesus Christ! I love to be with my family and friends. Interests? Writing, reading, cooking, dancing, teaching, splashing in puddles...I am an English teacher, wannabe children's author, and a bit of a health nut...and I can't stand high pitched squeaky noises.
