"These stay moist and delicious and almost caused an international incident when a lady took credit for baking them at the embassy when she really didn't."

  1. Delicious! I have made these twice and substituted chocolate chips for raisins - they were a hit and gone in an instant! Great flavor!.

  2. Very good bar recipe. Easy and quick to make. Brought for a potluck and they were eaten quickly. Made second time and substituted chocolate chips instead of raisins which tasted even better!

  3. This is the same exact recipe we use here in Lancaster Co., PA. It's hard to beat! These are moist, and get eaten very quickly. We LOVE the cream cheese icing! TRY THIS RECIPE!! :)

  4. Delicious! I made in an 8 1/2 x 11 baking dish; cut sugar back to 1 1/2 cups, used olive oil; fresh pumpkin; 2 eggs/2 eggbeaters; no raisins/used white chocolate chips. This recipe goes in my Favorites file. Thank you!

  5. Made these for a potluck at work. Very easy to do. The cake part was moist and tender. Just the right amount of cinnamon. Might increase the raisins to 2/3 cup next time. The cream cheese frosting was decadent. I did sift the powdered sugar and I didn't have a lumpiness problem. Thanks for sharing this recipe. My co-workers ate every crumb.
