This is the first pumpkin pie we have ever tasted, my plan was to have a slice and then send the rest on with hubbie to work but I decided against that......I used fresh pumpkin as I cannot get canned and I also cheated and used a ready made base. This pie is wonderful. (I roasted the pumpkin in a slow oven until it was soft enough to puree, about 40 min) Thanks Inez

This one got a lot of ooh this is good remarks from my family. The filling is very rich and has a good spice flavor. I thought the crumb topping was an interesting idea and a little different from the traditional pumpkin pie. After I got the kids off to school, my husband and I had a piece with a cup of coffee for breakfast. Thanks MizzNezz.

I've been making this pie for a couple of years now, and I get all the same rave reviews. I've also been told that it was the best pumpkin pie a friend ever had. I like it better made in a ready made graham cracker crust. Yes, I also cover most of th outside of the pie with foil to keep from burning. Try this crumb topping on your next homemade apple pie (pastry crust with this one), I wowed my husband with that little twist. Great Post!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!!
I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch.
We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
