Punch a La Koets

"This was published in a magazine that was featuring the chef Jennie Koets many years ago. Some of the ingredients have to be frozen so plan ahead. Double ingredients for a bigger party. A tasty punch."

  • 2 cups water
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 12 ounces unsweetened pineapple juice (1 1/2 cup)
  • 1 medium banana, mashed (1/2 cup)
  • 13 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed (1/2 of 6-oz can)
  • 13 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed (1/2 of 6-oz can)
  • 2 cups ginger ale, chilled

  • In small saucepan, heat water and sugar till sugar dissolves.
  • Cool then combine with pineapple juice, banana and concentrates.
  • Pour into freezer containers; cover and freeze.
  • Remove from freezer about one hour before serving. Thaw to slush stage; turn into punch bowl.
  • Slowly pour ginger ale down side of bowl.
  • Decorate top of punch with thinly sliced fresh lemons, if desired.
