  1. Saute the diced onions and the fennel in the olive oil until they take on a translucent appearance. Add the cooked beans and saute for a minute. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder and serrano pepper if using.Add the pasta sauce and water and simmer until the sauce thickens to desired consistency. Remove from heat, serve hot garnished by the lime juice and parsley.
