  1. Super easy to make, i use greek honey yogurt instead of sour cream.

  2. I wanted a recipe for a dessert using honey. Came across this today and made it. I followed the recipe exactly (after I figured out 150g of butter was 10.5 tablespoons!) and it came out light and sweet. I drizzled honey on top when it came out of the oven, then loosely covered while warm, so it was so moist and sweet, but not too sweet. We can definitely taste the honey, but its not overpowering. Kids and I love it. This will be a regular at our house. Thanks for posting it.

  3. I also added 3/4 tsp baking powder instead of the self rising flour. I used fat free plain yogurt instead of sour cream. It turned out yummy! Very moist with the perfect taste of honey. I am going to serve it to my kids tonight after a homeshcool feild trip to a bee farm. It will be perfect with some warm melted honey-butter drizzled over it. I would not call it fluffy like others did, but not too dense either... just really moist. The baking time was perfet... 30 min at 375 and it was perfectly done. Enjoy!

  4. This came out really nice. I forgot to put in the butter! and it still was good. No self rising flour so I added 3/4 tablespoon of baking powder and 1 tsp salt. I also only had 1/4 cup of honey but the honey flavor was still present. Then, with all my mistakes, I forgot to add the eggs until the end and had to beat them in with an electric beater! Uggh, what a night. Cake was light, the edges browned nicely and had a sweet taste. I cooked it in a bundt pan and it only took about 28 minutes. My daughter loved it and asked to bring some to school in her lnch tomorrow (she is 16) Thank you!

  5. This is a fantastic recipe! Really easy to make with basic ingredients. Cooking time took about 20 minutes longer than recipe stated, however this could be due to the cake tin I used. This cake looked great when I took it out - it had a nearly completely level top. The consistency was perfect - light and moist - and the taste was also perfect, not too sweet and sickly but a with a definite taste of honey. I decided that an icing would possibly be too heavy for this cake so I just dusted it lightly with icing sugar. My partner is a bee keeper and I will certainly be making this cake again and again. 5 stars!

Tweaks

  1. If using a 10" ceramic loaf pan (cause you don't own a cake pan), then up the time to one hour, on the nose, at 375 degrees.
