"I've made these for years, especially at Christmas. Everyone likes them. They are very rich though, so cut them into small bars."

  1. Really rich and really good!! Just make sure you spray the baking dish well. These stick to the pan buy by God they are good!! Have a bunch frozen for future use. Thanks KyJo.

  2. So simple and amazingly rich! Used 15 Digestive biscuits for the crumbs and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and have had waaay too many of these already... I lined the pan with foil and greased it and didn't have much of a problem with sticking. And now I'm off to have another cookie. Thank you for sharing!

  3. Very good bar cookie. To help with the "sticky" problem, I lightly sprayed the pan and also the spatula I used to press the mix down into the pan. No problems! These are very rich and very yummy. I used a chocolate/caramel chip when I made these - good blend of flavors. Made for Zaar Cookbook Tag 2008

  4. Superb!!! Quick, easy, cheap, great taste. What more could I ask for? 1/2 of my grahams were going stale and I used a brand that I do not like (I wanted to get rid of them). And even my choc chips were an off brand. But it tasted great. I know I will use this again. My kids can make it on their own too.

I was born and raised in Iowa but married my penpal of 8 years who was a Ky boy. We've been married 32 years. He's retired from the VA Hospital and I am no longer working outside the home because of health problems. I stil love to read, just can't do it as well because of retinopathy in my eyes. I really feel like its been forever since I was last on this site. Looking forward to seeing how many of you I remember and vice versa. P.S. My soul mate passed away from cancer on Nov 19, 2007. His was a short battle, but a courageous one. He was always my biggest fan, especially if I made peanut butter cookies. I miss him lots, but know he's not hurting anymore. I think he would be proud of the fact that I've been able to go on, and I'm still doing some of the things we liked doing together. I would like to remind everyone to tell the people you love, how much you love them everyday, because you just never know when they'll be gone.
