“Had a craving for them...so I whipped up this recipe by combining several things from the top recipes I could find. There's no need to follow the directions exactly, I'm just giving you the details of what I had on hand. Also, this meal is pretty lean, considering the choice of meat and the fact that it is well drained after browning. This meal can be served as is on a bun or over a hot dog and sprinkled with shredded cheese.”

Directions

  1. Brown meat in a skillet until it has just cooked through. Add in salt and pepper.
  2. Drain meat onto paper towels so that the grease and fat have been soaked up.
  3. Using the same skillet (after it has been wiped down with the a paper towel), combine all the remaining ingredients and bring to a slight simmer.
  4. Add the meat back along with some fresh cracked black pepper. (You can also add the meat after 3-4 minutes of slight simmering if you prefer very soft onions.).
  5. Heat thoroughly and serve on a steamed or toasted bun with kettle chips.
  6. These are also great topped with cheese and a hot dog.
