Quick Food Processor Biscuits

"These light, tasty biscuits are very quick when made in the food processor, but you can also make them without it. I adapted this recipe from one I found on the back of a baking powder can."

  • Dump on to a floured board and knead for a minute or two.
  • Roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut dough with a floured biscuit cutter.
  • Brush the biscuits with melted butter before baking on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes.

  1. Exceeded my expectations and so easy to make. I used butter instead of shortening and added a teaspoon of vinegar to the milk to make it taste like buttermilk. The biscuits took about 14 minutes to cook and came out nice and fluffy. They held together well when I fork-split them and spread butter and jelly on either half.

  2. I had great fun making this recipe! I've not made biscuits before and they turned out GREAT.

  3. I've never been able to make a biscuit that was edible so I was eager to try this one with the food processor. My baking powder was a little past the expiration date but they turned out pretty good. I'll buy new powder and try them again but the taste was excellent and got pretty tall.

  4. Fabulous! As fast as Bisquick, and 20 times better: light, fluffy, moist, golden brown, tall. Try these!

  5. This was my first ever attempt at homemade biscuits. They weren't wow but I'm sure the kids are going to love them for breakfast tomorrow morning. Its a keeper.

Tweaks

  1. I did the recipe exactly as written. I do have a gas oven, but the cook time was ideal.
