Quick ‘n Easy Strawberry and Banana Smoothie

"Another Sainsbury’s recipe from Jamie Oliver’s website. Low calorie and low fat, simple to make, nutritious and delicious. I’m still not sure why Jamie Oliver has Sainsbury’s recipes on his website, but that’s where I found it."

 1. Soooo smooth and yummy! For one smoothie, I used 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1 banana, and 1 container yoplait strawberry cheesecake yogurt... (which brought the flavor up a notch! :)) I didn't use honey and it was sweet enough for me. This is a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

 2. So runny! And not the best flavor. Added twice the strawberries and another banana, then it tasted pretty good. Next time will use half the milk and maybe less yogurt instead of making so much it goes unused.

 3. Lovely minus the honey and very easy to make

 4. I loved this smoothie, so easy, quick tasty and healthy. I have it for breakfast!

 5. Jamie Oliver was once (and might still be) endorsed by Sainsburys and he was featured in their adverts for a few years. Usually when Sainsburys endorse a big name chef like this they contract them in to create exclusive recipes for them.

Tweaks

 1. Wow! This is amazing! Just to do the conversions for some of you, I use about 1 cup of strawberries, 1 1/2 cups of milk, 3/4 cup of yogurt, about 1 tablespoon of honey (I just give a squirt) and a banana- hope this helps! Sometimes I even use orange juice instead of milk! This is my new nightly dessert! Thanks!

 2. Excellent and light smoothie. I halved the recipe as I was only making it for myself. I subbed the milk with soy milk but otherwise followed the instructions as posted. Thanks for posting!

July 2008 update: VERY happy to be back on Zaar after about a two year absence due to having had no internet connection at home, and having been too unwell for a time so that getting re-connected wasn't even a priority!

And really looking forward to getting back into the Zaar world and connecting again with the many wonderful people I knew before, and new people, of course!
