  1. Brown ground beef and onions in shortening in a skillet. Drain off excess fat. Stir in hot water, tomatoes, 57 sauce, salt, sugar, and pepper. Add macaroni; mix well. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender. Garnish with minced parsley.
