- 2 lbs sirloin steaks
- salt
- pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄4 cup onion, chopped
- 2 1⁄2 tablespoons flour
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 cups hot water
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
directions
- Cut steak into thin strips, about 1 inch wide. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Heat large skillet to medium-high. Add olive oil. Add meat and onion, cooking until meat is browned. Remove meat and onion from skillet.
- Melt remaining butter over low heat. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Dissolve bouillon cubes in 2 cups hot water; gradually add to skillet mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
- Alternately add sour crem and tomato paste, stirring constantly. Simmer gently, without boiling, for 1 minute.
- Add meat and onion to sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
