- 1⁄2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1⁄4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 3⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 (1 lb) can chocolate flavored syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3⁄4 cup chopped nuts
directions
- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Sift flour and soda together.
- Add alternately with the chocolate syrup to the creamed mixture.
- Add vanilla, beat well.
- Pour into a greased and floured 13x9x2 inch cake pan.
- Sprinkle top with chopped nuts.
- Bake in a 350 F oven for 40-45 minutes or until done.
