  1. Place potatoes in a greased 11-inch by 7-inch baking dish; dot with butter.
  2. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until tender.
  3. Combine sour cream and salad dressing mix; spoon over potatoes.
  4. Sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Bake, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
