Raw Almond Herb Cheese

"Good for replacing traditional cheese in salads and sandwiches, also tasty on crackers! Won't fool you into thinking it's 'real' cheese though ;) Enjoy for it's own unique taste."

  1. AMAZING!!!! it's recipes like this that make the raw diet feasible! i also added extra nutritional yeast (found at vitamin stores, for those of you who have a hard time finding it, like i did). didn't have green onion, so i added just a tiny bit of regular, and it was fine. Thanks so much for posting! this will be a staple in my raw food diet!

  2. With only 1 teaaspoon nutritional yeast this was definitely not "cheesy" enough for me due to the natural sweetness of the almonds which was overpowering the saltiness. After adding two more tablespoons nutritional yeast, this really is tasty and a very good and quick substitute for cheese in sandwiches. Thanks for posting! I'll make this again often. Made for Let's PARTY December 2009.

  3. This is truly AWESOME, and so quick and easy to make! You just throw everything in the processor, form and go! Slices well once chilled, so yummy in sandwiches and on crackers, and lends itself to alterations and substitutions well. A+ recipe! Sure, it doesn't taste like cheese, but it does taste great.

I love cooking. When it comes to recipes, I usually only use them for baking, and even then often end up changing them a fair bit. All of my baking is vegan.
