  1. Pour the hot water over the chocolate in a bowl (let sit, DO NOT STIR).
  2. In the bowl of a mixer cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  4. Pour the water off of the chocolate and reserve the water.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate into the butter, sugar, egg, vanilla mixture and beat well.
  6. Mix flour and other dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  7. Add the dry mixture in three batches to the mixing bowl alternating with the reserved water. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Bake in a buttered and floured tube pan at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
