  • Sauté onion, bell pepper, celery, garlic, and smoked sausage in a large pot until onions are soft.
  • Open cans of beans, drain two. Leave the third un-drained.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients, and simmer for 30 minutes while you cook the rice.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice.

  2. The blend of spices nails it! This is a very easy recipe that is good as written or a great base to build on. I've made this multiple times with andouille and breakfast sausage, excellent results every time.......Highly recommended.

I'm a born and raised city girl who moved to a small town, and love it! I now live in Lexington KY, and I am trying to adjust back to the larger town feel. One good thing...more restaurants! I love to cook, and learned from my father, who passed away 4 years ago. He cooked by throwing things together, and it always tasted great.
