Refreshing Punch Slush

"This is a recipe my sister brought home from junior high home ec class back in the mid 60s and it became a summertime staple at our house after that. The recipe stipulates setting it out 2 1/2 hours before serving to start to soften. That would make it much easier but as kids we were too impatient and just attacked the block of ice with spoons scraping off swaths of it into our glasses. I lose and re-find this recipe every few years as an adult and whenever I find it I have to make it. I'm happy to report I still love it after all these years!"
