directions
- Turn Rice Cooker onto cook.
- Add oil, bacon, onion and garlic to Rice Cooker.
- Stir frequently until onion is soft.
- Add rice to Rice Cooker and coat in oil.
- Add frozen vegetable and beef stock and mix well.
- Place lid on Rice Cooker and let it do its thing.
- When finished mix in Soy Sauce and stir.
- Serve.

I am going to be making this for the first time today. I have all the ingredients i need for this, but I'm confused about how much water to use. Am I only using beef stock and letting it all cook in the beef stock? Or am I gonna be adding more water to it? I'm using jasmine rice the package says 2 cups of rice takes 3 cups of water.

This was tasty, but I trusted the recipe, and I probably shouldn't have. The cups of rice listed should probably be the measuring cup that came with my rice cooker, not an actual measuring cup; while the cups for the beef stock probably is an actual measuring cup. I used short grain rice, hoping it would cook appropriately, but it was still crunchy after the first pass. While I loved the convenience (and smell) of cooking the bacon and onions and garlic in my rice cooker, it didn't really work very well. I would probably go ahead and saute in a frying pan first and then put it in my rice cooker. The flavor was kind of bland, also. All of that aside, I think this is a great idea and I will probably play around until we find something that works for our family. Thank you for posting! :)

I have no idea how 2 cups of liquid is supposed to cook 2 cups of rice in the rice cooker...I went against my better judgement and followed the recipe, but had to run the rice cooker through many cycles and add tons more water to try to salvage this, and it still came out crunchy. Did I miss something?

I tweaked it just a bit and it came out restaurant grade fried rice. I did all the cooking in my rice cooker. It has an automatic shutoff for cooking rice. 3 tbsp. real butter in my rice cooker 1/2 onion finely chopped added to melted butter 1 tbsp. garlic finely chopped added to melted butter 4 slices 1/8 thick ham lunch meat cut into strips and added in with onions and garlic Cook until garlic and onion are translucent then add 2 cups water plus 1 tbsp. chicken bullion I added one beaten egg early in the cooking 1 cup rice about five minutes before rice is complete I added 1/2 can peas 1/2 can corn 2 tbsp. soy sauce I added second beaten egg when most of the water was absorbed into the rice. just poured the egg onto the rice and did not stir it in, wanted it to cook in large chunks of egg Wow that was good. Next time I will add some finely chopped green onion for a splash more color and another degree of flavor.

I loved how easy this was. Because of my rice cooker's design I had to cook the onion on the stove, and I substituted ham for the bacon, but this was still very easy to do. I scrambled a couple of eggs while the rice cooked and added them with the soy sauce. I'm also going to add a little bit more broth next time as the top few pieces of rice were a little dry. I wonder how long it would take to cook with brown rice.
