Directions

  1. In a 3 quart saucepan,over medium heat,heat milk,rice,sugar,butter and salt.
  2. Cook until tiny bubbles form around the edge,stirring frequently.
  3. Reduce heat to low,cover and simmer 1 hour or until rice is very tender,stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled,about 3 hours.
  6. Garnish with nutmeg.
