Rice With Jalapenos

"My friend Jennifer gave me this recipe and my family LOVES it. It is a nice change from plain white rice, though I must warn you it is not for the faint of heart. :o)"

  • Grease a 9x9" pan.
  • Combine the rice, sour cream, salt and pepper.
  • Spread 1/2 of this mixture in the bottom of the pan.
  • Top with cheese (less reserve) and jalapenos.
  • Add remaining rice mixture on top and sprinkle with reserved cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

  1. Yes, I tweaked a little.. I used canned green chiles and low fat sour cream and cheese, but it was delicious. Definitely a keeper.
     
  2. I made this for my lunch, WOW! I love it! although I used leftover white rice and not instant. This is very good, I served it to myself with some grilled chicken skewers and it was great!

I am married to a great guy and have three children. Two are in college and one is in high school. Besides cooking Zaar recipes, I love to read suspense novels and days at the beach (they go hand in hand in my opinion!). Recently we discovered a beach on the Atlantic that allows dogs, so we have been enjoying taking our two dogs for a romp in the waves. I am totally addicted to 'Zaar and love all of the wonderful recipes I have found and made. Recently I have been low carbing it. I have found many of these wonderful recipes on 'Zaar that my family has really enjoyed - phew!
