Ingredients Nutrition

  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 6 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting


  1. Put the chocolate and cream in a heatproff bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water (do not let the bowl touch the water).
  2. Stir until the chocolate has melted.
  3. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Then beat in the egg yolks one at a time.
  5. Beat the egg whites in a separate clean bowl with an electric mixer until stiff.
  6. Lightly fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until combined.
  7. Spoon the mousse into 4 ramekins or dessert glasses and chill for 2 hours.
  8. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
