  • Heat the 2 cups of milk, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, and butter on medium. Use a whisk to make sure the cocoa powder doesn't clump.
  • Put the corn starch in a small cup and add 1/3 cup of milk. Mix together with a fork untill it is completely dissolved.
  • Add corn starch mixture to cocoa mixture and whisk. Heat untill thickened but don't boil.
  • Take off the heat and add vanilla.
  • Put 10 marshmallow into each of 2 mugs and pour hot cocoa over.

  1. I had my taste buds set on a nice cup of hot cocoa but this was like drinking a cup of pudding. It definitely is thick and creamy but just not what my taste buds were longing for. Sorry.
     
  2. oh my. this is divine! i'm bad at following directions; I buy whole milk for the purpose of making hot cocoa! I thought the butter a bit odd but it adds to the creaminess without it tasting buttery or greasy. a bit more cornstarch & you can make pudding! this is just enough cornstarch to thicken nicely. i might cut back on the sugar because with the mashmallows it's too sweet for my tastes. But AAAHHHHHH feels so good on this arctic blustery day. Made for Comfort Cafe 1/10.
