Rose's World Famous Pancakes

"These are truly world famous. I have made them for guests from England and the Netherlands as well as from Nova Scotia. I remember the first time I ever made them. I was a fairly newly wed when my husband asked me for pancakes. I very sweetly replied, " I can't make pancakes, I don't have any pancake mix." To which my husband answered, "Don't you have a cook book?" Thus begun my obsession of cooking things from scratch. ( I was 14 when I learned you could make a cake from scratch)."

  1. These are wonderful pancakes. Try 3/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup Cream of Wheat for a wonderful variation.

  2. These disappeared pretty quickly. They're light, puffy, eggy, thin and more than a little crepe-like. They aren't as delicate as I normally expect crepes to be, which can be a good thing.

  3. I just made this in the morning, it was perfect!!! The family loves it so much, it was easy and delicious!! thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

  4. Excellent basic recipe. I use self rising flour leaving out salt ad baking soda. I also add a touch of vanilla and melted butter.

  5. I just made this and it was soooo delicious and sooo easy.. I will never buy the mix again!
