Rustic Crunchy Apple Pie

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, flour, walnuts, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Roll apple slices in the crumb mixture.
  • Arrange apples in unbaked pie shell.
  • Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over top of apples.
  • Pour melted butter evenly over the top of the apples.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.

  2. We really liked this pie. It was like eating apple crisp pie. I used a 9- inch deep dish pie shell, and three large Granny Smith apples were enough to fill the it. This is a great recipe to use if you have little kids who like to help in the kitchen. My sons helped roll the apple slices in the crumb mixture.
