ingredients
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 cup blackberry jam with seeds
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
directions
- In large mixing bowl cream butter well add sugar slowly until fluffy.
- Add well beaten eggs to mixing bowl with sugar and butter mixture.
- Mix in a separate bowl flour, salt, spices and baking soda alternate mixing this into egg mixture with buttermilk.
- Coat the raisins and walnuts well with flour before folding them into the batter mixture. Add in Jam and mix well.
- Pour batter into pan or pans and bake at 325 degrees for one hour or until center springs back.
