Sarah Mcglaughn Apple or Pear Cake

"This is a wonderful cake that doesn't even require frosting. Would be fine served with coffee in the mornings or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a wonderful after dinner dessert. This recipe was originally made with pears."

  • Beat the two eggs with oil.
  • Beat in sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and then flour.
  • Beat in cooled cooked pears or apples.
  • Mix in Walnuts or Pecans.Recipe only calls for 1 cup but more would make it better.
  • Pour into greased 9 x 13 baking dish or pan.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
  • The original recipe was done with pears.
