Sara's Perfect Margarita

"Ok, so I'm not new at drinking Margaritas, but usually I just buy the margarita mix, throw some tequila in, and go from there. Last night I so want margaritas, but couldn't buy the mix. So, I read a few recipes to get the general idea, and came up with this. It was seriously THE best margarita I have ever had! In fact, i think we'll make them again tonight! Lol"

  • Place lime juice, lemon juice, and sugar in the blender. Blend for 2 minutes, to dissolve all the sugar.
  • Add tequila, and fill jug with ice cubes. Blend until ice is crushed.
  • Dip the rim of a glass in the jug, then dip it in salt. Fill the glass with your drink, and enjoy! :).
  • I keep the jug in the freezer, and give it a quick whizz on the blender each time before I pour a new glass.

I'm married, I have 2 kids (both boys), and I live in Australia. I have loved cooking for as long as I can remember, and have become completely addicted to browsing through Zaar looking for new recipes! I have a small animal shelter for rabbits and guinea pigs, and spend most of my time looking after kids or critters!. My favourite cookbooks are The Essential Pasta Cookbook, The Central Cookery Book, Flo Bjielkie-Peterson's Country Cookbook, and Greek Cooking (I bought that one in Greece, and it's FANTASTIC). At the minute, we are getting ready to move, which is forcing me to sort through my recipe cabinet. I have been trying out all those recipes that are scribbled on pieces of paper, or torn from magazines, so I can decide ifthey are keepers or not. So far I've found a lot of keepers, and will work at posting them on here. I'm passionate about a lot of things, mainly my kids, animals, and cooking. I won't even start on my peeves, we'll be here all night! lol
