I made this pie and my only variant was more fruit! And a little extra of the other filling ingredients because I love pies with a decent amount of fruit! It was my first Saskatoon pie ever, and my friends wolfed it down, as did I. Delicious and perfect. If a newbie like me can make it, you can! You can’t miss!

As good as Gramdma's! And that is indeed a great compliment , being that she was raised on the prairies! This made the perfect pie filling. I am gluten sensative so I did substitute regular flour for spelt flour. My hubby who just adored my Grandma "B's" 'Toon pie, said if Grandma was still with us she would have been proud! Excellent recipe...

This is an excellent recipe. Not too sweet and the berries are not too undercooked or overcooked. I forgot to dot with butter and it worked just fine. Also tried with lime and still very good. Can be done without a top crust and eaten as is or topped with ice cream or whipped cream. This one is going in my best cookbook.
