Satin Skin Apple Mask and Scrub

"This mask is especially for combination or oily skin. The apple provides natural fruit acids that exfoliate and brighten. It also adds an astringent effect. The green tea is an anti-oxidant known for having healing properties. It also contains caffiene which may add in relieving puffiness. The Chamomile is anti-inflammatory and if you use the Celestial Seasonings brand it also has licorice root which brightens your complexion. The oatmeal is soothing, softening, and good for problem skin. The honey is a humectant that adds moisture. Honey also contains anti-oxidants and vitamins. Egg whites have a firming effect when used in facial masks. The lemon juice is astringent and will aid to lighten freckles and other skin discolorations. I was looking for these type of qualities when I whipped up this mask. It smells nice and feels wonderful easpecially when chilled. It leaves my skin baby soft and glowing. If you have sensitive skin or allergies I would not use this mask. If you are allergic to ragweed you should omit the Chamomile because it may aggravate your condidtion."

  1. A nice tightener for the skin of my face and neck. A little chilly straight out of the fridge - best to warm more to room temperature before using.

  2. A very nice mask! I left out the chamomile because of an allergy, but otherwise made it as written. I was a little concerned about the lemon juice, thinking that it would be too harsh on my skin, but actually the finished product felt quite nice. I made mine a little too thin, though -- I always have a hard time judging such things the first time I make a facial mask -- so it never did dry on my face. Next time I'll be sure to add a bit more oatmeal. Thanks for an easy indulgence!

  3. Gingerkitten told me about this and gave me the recipe and I am so glad it has posted. It feels wonderful and your skin is so soft and smooth after. I have tried many masks and some leave your face dry, this left it hydrated and feeling incredible. I loved it.
