I have been making these appetizers for the last 20 years with rave reviews. I make mine and bake them without the sauce for about 35 to 40 minutes. I take them off the tray and drain them on paper towels. This part can actually be done ahead of time. I put them back on the baking tray and pour the sauce over and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes. They are less greasy this way and are easier to make ahead of time.

These were fantastic!!!! I took the bacon wrapped chestnuts and baked them in the oven first until the bacon was crisp then drained them on a paper towel. After drained I then placed them in another pan, made the sauce and poured it over the chestnuts and then baked in the oven until the sauce was bubbling. This worked out great and there was no worry about the grease. I will keep this recipe and make it every chance I get for those special events.

What can I say about myself that hasn't already been mentioned in the police reports? Just kidding! I'm a single guy who loves to cook! Good thing, or I'd starve or go broke eating out! I love to read, horror and mysteries are my favorite.
Love music, (except rap) and I'm a huge Green Bay Packer Fan!
