ingredients
- 2⁄3 cup shortening
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2⁄3 cup sauerkraut
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
directions
- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs.
- Add dry ingredients with water.
- Add drained and chopped sauerkraut.
- Bake in 9x13 greased and floured baking pan at 350 degrees for 30 min.
- Good with a chocolate frosting.
