Directions

  1. Place Sauerkraut in a collander & rinse well -- set aside to drain.
  2. Brown the ground beef & bacon together -- drain all but 1 T. fat.
  3. Season the kraut to taste & add to meat mixture.
  4. Add water & cover.
  5. Simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Place in a lightly buttered cassarole dish.
  7. Top with mashed potatoes & dot with butter.
  8. Bake in oven, uncovered for 1/2 hour @ 350°.
