  1. Slice onions and place in a greased baking dish.
  2. Dust with salt and pepper.
  3. Core apples and slice into rings, and lay on top of the onions.
  4. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
  5. Slice tomatoes and lay on top of the onions.
  6. Dust with salt and pepper and mixed herbs.
  7. Prick sausages and lay on top.
  8. Bake 350 for 20 minutes, turning the sausages halfway through cooking.
  9. Drain fat and serve hot with mashed potatoes.
