  1. In a skillet, cook sausage over medium high heat, stirring occasionally, until browned, 8-10 minutes. drain off fat.
  2. Stir in scallions, rice, broth, vegetables, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
