Savory Chicken Sandwiches from the Crock Pot

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 4 bone-in chicken breast halves
  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs
  • 1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope onion soup mix
  • 14 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 14 cup prepared Italian salad dressing
  • 14 cup water
  • 14 -16 hamburger buns, split

Directions

  1. Place chicken in crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle with soup mix and garlic salt.
  3. Pour dressing and water over chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  5. Remove chicken and cool slightly.
  6. Skim fat from cooking juices.
  7. Remove chicken from bones and cut into bite-size pieces and return to crockpot.
  8. Serve with a slotted spoon on buns.
  9. I have also used boneless chicken pieces and cut them up before placing in the crockpot. You just need to adjust cooking time if doing it this way.
