  • 12 cup butter, oleo
  • 1 12 cups cracker crumbs
  • 24 oysters, shucked, reserve liquid
  • 14 cup heavy cream
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 116 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 14 cup oyster liquid

directions

  • Preheat oven 425 degrees.
  • Melt butter.
  • Add crackers to butter and stir.
  • In oyster liquid add cream, salt and cayenne pepper.
  • Butter a 1 quart baking dish.
  • Layer 1/3 of crumb mixture and 12 oysters.
  • Pour 1/2 of the liquid over the 1st layer.
  • Add another 1/3 of the crumbs and 12 oysters and remaining liquid.
  • Top with crumbs.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes in 425 degrees until browned.

  1. Yum! I actually cooked a little bit differently by layering the mix as a single layer in the shell rather than using a baking dish. Worked very well. I also used natural yoghurt rather than cream so it was a little healthier.

I am no longer single. I found me an amazing man and we married, it has been almost 3 years now. My little girl is 13 now and she is amazing. I went to school and got my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and I work for the State as a Parole Officer now. I have realized that I hate cooking. I really do hate it. Luckily I married a man who loves to cook. He hates to bake, and I actually do like to bake. So I am what one would consider a somewhat mediocre baker. I still think about my Zaar Angel all the time. She knows who she is. I do enjoy to crochet, I do that a lot here lately. I use to do counted cross stitch, yet I don't do that anymore. I can't watch TV as well as I can while I crochet.
