  1. Fabulous biscuits (cookies). Light and crisp, with a delicious coating of vanilla-scented sugar, but no discernible taste of almonds. I just cut mine into diamonds because I was in a hurry. The biscuits took a little under 15 minutes to cook. My only criticism of the recipe is the vast quantity of icing sugar specified for dusting - I put it all on, and it looked like a snowstorm, so next time I will half the quantity. Highly recommended (especially if you cut them into prettier shapes than I did!). Reviewed for Pick A Chef, Fall 2007.

  2. Pass on this recipe it is not right!!!!! This recipe is jacked you need more butter than stated the 'cookie' is not tasty I had to add almond extract and vanilla extract to the dough for any taste! I have been baking for 30 years and if I had not known how to bake I would have been very angry at wasting all these ingredients and TIME! And this dough when done right does not need to go in the fridge! 2 hrs blown on fixing this bad recipe!!!

  3. These cookies taste very good. Everything worked out well, but speaking as a person with minimal baking experience, I do wish the recipe had contained a little more detail. I followed Syrinx's advice re: baking time, as well as halving the icing sugar. Honestly, even cut in half I had a ton left over. The cookies themselves are buttery and tasty. Similar in taste to my mother's shortbread cookies, with a unique texture. The definitely have a festive flavour. I'll happily make these again. Made for PAC Spring '08

I'm a civil engineer, born and raised in Denver. After losing about 60 lbs through a sensible diet and exercise, I have learned to cook quick and healthy meals. I still take a day to splurge once a week and I love to make desserts too! My main activities outside of the long hours I spend at work are kickboxing, fitness boot camp, ballet and tap. I also enjoy cooking but as a single girl, I'm always looking for recipes that can be made small and will last a few days. <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/adopted_1_1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting">
