Seared Tuna With Green Onion-Wasabi Sauce

"This is one of our favorite ways to have fresh ahi. I usually add a little more wasabi - but then we love that stuff, lol. I also cook it less time than recommended here because we like it that way and I usually add some sesame seeds as garnish."

  1. Great recipe! I didn't have cucumber but made the sauce as listed for two tuna steaks. Do try this great recipe. Both quick and delicious. 3/28/10 Made this again but cooked it on the KJ. So much better. Had some left over and dipped it in the sauce and even that was great too.

  2. We made this a couple of nights ago for dinner and really enjoyed it. It was easy to prepare and had great flavor. I used a little more sesame oil as I realized I was out of peanut oil and skipped the radish sprouts--otherwise I followed all ingredients/directions as posted. It had a very pretty presentation. I would not skip the cuke--I enjoyed the cool flavor in contrast to the heat. I will definitely make this again.

  3. A sophisticated delight. Warning to fledgling wasabi-users like me: I added 3 T of wasabi paste instead of the powdered form...talk about an antihistamine meal! Next time I'll use just a dab so as not to overwhelm the other delicate ingredients. Worked beautifully halved and the cooking time is perfect. Thanks for a wonderful way to prepare this important and healthy fish.
