Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet baking chocolate squares
  • 1 13 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 cup butter
  • 34 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 12-34 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 14 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Melt chocolate squares in microwave in large bowl on medium for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir until chocolate is smooth.
  4. Add butter, sugar, eggs, flour and baking powder.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  9. Cool for 1 minute.
  10. Transfer to wire racks to cool comletely.
  11. *If not using nuts increase flour to 3/4 C to stop cookies from spreading.
