ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 2⁄3 cup onion, minced
- 1⁄2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄2 cup beef broth
- toasted sesame seeds

Sesame-Sour Cream Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ginger
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 3⁄4 cup sour cream
directions
- Combine first eight ingredients in a large bowl.
- Shape into 1" balls.
- Heat oil & butter over medium heat in skillet.
- Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Add broth and cover & simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Prepare Sour Cream sauce by melting butter in small saucepan.
- Blend in flour, ginger, and salt and cook until bubbly.
- Add beef broth and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Add soy sauce and toasted sesame seeds.
- Remove from heat; pour into a small bowl.
- Add sour cream, stirring until smooth.
- Place hot meatballs in a bowl; top with sauce.
- Or put meatballs in crockpot; top with sauce; keep warm on low.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.

Made this tonight by the book as always with my first run recipes. I was expecting more of an asian flavor so next time I might switch to freshly grated ginger, a bit more soy sauce, a few drops of sesame oil, garlic and maybe a dash of rice wine viniger. It still turned out great though; closly resembling a beef stroganoff flavor.
