Seven Layer Jello

"Make this in a clear dish! It is SO pretty and people will be asking how you cut the Jello into such thin and even layers! Cooking time is total time for all the layers to set. Each layer takes about 30-45 minutes to set so it is best to place the white mixture over a pot of hot water to prevent it from getting hard while you are waiting for the Jello to harden."

 1. I make this red, white, and blue every year for Memorial Day for my sunt's picnic. My kids love it and so do I.

 2. This looks impressive to kids and for sure all the adults,. Great for the Holiday's, including Easter. It really is not difficult, once you get going. Set timer for each layer to firm up. Drizzle on next layer so as to not "dig up" the one below. It is a snap. Make this while you are cooking other stuff in the kitchen. Make at least night before to fully set up. For a "precise" look measure out your layers with a measuring cup. Do make it in a clear glass dish like the one shown here. Being the oldest of 10 Kids, my mom made the most of this recipe and we loved it everytime. If you add ice in place of 1/2 your water allotment you will cut your time drastically. I am done in a few hours. It has been a while since I have made it for my kids and I am grateful to find this recipe again. Thanks Bake-a-holic!!

I'm a single mother from NJ and I am a bake-a-holic. I love to bake ANYTHING; from cakes to cupcakes and cookies to bars, I really love it. I love creating new recipes or tweaking ones that I have to my own tastes. I have a HUGE number of 'bake'books and recipe cards that I have collected through the years. It wasn't until I was looking for a recipe (that I could ONLY find on Zaar, mind you)that I got completely hooked! We were getting SO tired of the same old baked chicken or spaghetti with tomato sauce from a jar. But now, with all these new recipes in my cookbooks, we're trying new (and TASTY!!!) things every day. I am SOOOO excited to finally have a place to put ALL my favorite recipes, as well as pick up some new ones. My most exciting discovery on Zaar was the crock-pot/slow-cooker recipes! We never used a crock-pot when I was growing up and I never understood why - I thought it was so easy, dump everything in before you leave for work and when you get home your dinner is ready and your house smells great (or so I've been told). But then I found out that 'back when I was growing up', there weren't that many recipes for crock-pots. But now that I found pages and PAGES of recipes on the Zaar, I'm investing in a crock-pot! Thanks to all of you who have posted FANTASTIC recipes! Other then that, I love doing crafts, mostly cross-stitching/embroidery and especially holiday crafts. I spend as much time as I possibly can with my son and he's usually the one helping me to make all my baking.
