Shaker Green Beans

"I got this recipe from my sister-in -law. A true favorite in her house. A great way to dress up green beans. This dish is often served at holiday time or in the summer when beans are fresh from the garden."

  1. This recipe can make anyone like green beans. i also steam the beans or cook them in the microwave for a few minutes. This just insures that your beans are cooked all the way through. I grew up with this recipe and it was always a favorite in our house and still is. If Dotty2 would not have posted it i definitly would have.

  2. Easy and very different! The only 'extra' thing I did was to steam the fresh beans for ten minutes, first, DH does not like them crunchy. Otherwise a rich and tasty way to serve beans, that everyone really enjoyed, the mix of sweet and tangy is just right. Thanks for a great recipe, Dotty! Made for Aussie swap#24, January 09

I have just recently retired. I worked in the banking industry for 25 yrs. My husband and I own a cottage and have spent most of this last summer at the lake. We go there in the winter as well. I love to cook and I collect recipes. <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Pohutukawa-2-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pick0GuXD-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picNW72Oj-1.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picx2XGjA-1.jpg"> <img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3316/3345270671_dd30334798.jpg"> <img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picx2XGjA-1.jpg">
