“I just made this recipe up and it was so good I have to jot it down-almost as good as a meat sauce but made with mushrooms, and a bit of a kick!”

Directions

  1. Finely chop the mushrooms and garlic cloves in a food processor. (I leave a few out, and roughly chop them, to make the sauce chunky.).
  2. Saute all the mushroom and garlic in olive oil on medium high heat in an deep saute pan or an everyday pan.
  3. After 2-3 minutes, add oregano, basil, garlic powder and onion powder, and red pepper.
  4. Continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the tomato sauce and the crushed and diced tomatoes.
  6. Salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Simmer, mostly covered, for about an hour, stirring regularly.
  8. If the sauce gets too thick, add some water to thin it out.
  9. Serve over noodles.
