  • Follow steps according to your bread machine.
  • set on light crust setting.
  • The original recipe calls for all whole wheat flour.
  • and no all purpose flour.
  • I have also used Robin Hood Multi grain flour-- I always put in 1 tbsp.
  • glueten flour in all my recipes whether it is a plain white or whole wheat breads--.

  1. i make this recipe with 1/2 whole whest flour and 1/2 bread flour, and use the gluten, but not the vitamin C. it really good, tastes wonder toasted with butter and raspberry fruit spread.
     
  2. This is a great way to feed the kids Shredded Wheat. I substituted the all purpose flour for all whole wheat, as AndyPandy said we could, I used the extra gluten to help with the rising, this was a wonderful flavourful bread. I really liked the first warm slice slathered in butter. Yummy!
     
  3. This is only marginally a South Beach recipe, if at all. Too much white flour and sugars. This would have to classify as a dessert. Not a bad recipe in general, just so people aren't misled that this is a South Beach recipe.
