Simple Fruit Crisp

"I made this for my fiancee who can't stand squishy bread (like in a cobbler). I also wanted something I could bake in my cast iron skillet. This dessert is super simple and quick, and can be made with pantry ingredients. The topping is crunchy and crumbly, with just the right amount of sweetness. I have been known to eat leftovers for breakfast! Use any canned fruit pie filling, or fresh berries with 1/4-1/3 cup sugar mixed in."

directions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pour pie filling into a greased pie plate or into a seasoned cast iron skillet/pot. Mix the dry ingredients together well. Melt 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) of butter and pour over dry ingredients. Mix well. It will be crumbly. Spread this over the top of the pie filling. Bake for 20 minutes.
