Simple Strawberry Jam

ingredients
- 5 pints fresh strawberries, hulled
- 6 cups granulated sugar
- 6 -8 tablesppons fresh lemon juice
directions
- Gently dump berries into a large bowl or sink of cold water to rinse, remove immediately into strainer and drain well.
- Pour into dutch oven, add sugar and mash well with potato masher until jusices begin to form.
- Place over low heat until sugar is melted, then raise heat and boil rapidly for 10 minutes, counting from the time mixture reaches full boil, stirring often.
- Remove from heat, adding in lemon juice.
- Pour into sterilized jars, seal and invert for 5 minutes, then set upright to cool.
- Label and store -- Enjoy.
