  1. I agree with LoriDori...this is a wonderfully delicious dish enjoyed by the whole family. I too had to substitute fresh potatoes (3 diced and boiled to almost-done) and pork sausage, but did all else as written. I also agree that it would be fine without the phyllo or made with a regular crust as well. We had this for dinner with arugula and DH enjoyed a left-over slice today. Microwaved for 90 seconds, it was hot and the crust still crispy. Thanks for a dish that will surely enter into rotation.

  2. A new family favorite! Absolutely delicious! I didn't have packaged potatoes, so I used approx. 1.5 pounds of red potatoes, washed, chunked, and then microwaved. Threw in a half a chopped onion when putting potatoes into non-stick pan. We also don't care for bell pepper, so that was omitted. Used Isernio's italian chicken sausage chub (16 oz) instead of patties. For cheese blend used half parmesan and half mozzarella. Turned out beautiful and tasted amazing! Forgot to get a photo to post - my family smelled it cooking and they were standing around like vultures waiting to devour it! The next morning they are already asking when will I make it again! The phyllo was a pretty touch, but baking without it would yield delicious results as well, I'm sure!
